Kerri Powell, RN, CPNP was born in Charlottesville, Virginia, but since she was a young child has been raised in Knoxville, Tennessee. With both parents as educators, Kerri always thought she wanted to pursue teaching.  In high school, she volunteered at a local hospital through a leadership class and developed an immediate love with medicine and the illness prevention, education, and involvement with children that can be achieved within nursing. She continued to volunteer at hospitals, shadow physicians and other medical specialties, and learn about medicine through classes prior to college.

Kerri completed her undergraduate education at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, graduating magna cum laude with a B.S. in Nursing. Following graduation, she began working at East Tennessee Children’s Hospital as a RN on the inpatient surgery unit. After a few years of experience, she then completed her MSN with a concentration in pediatric primary care. She completed clinical training in Knoxville and at Plateau Pediatrics.

Kerri is a board certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. She is also a member of the National association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners.

Kerri and her husband recently welcomed their son and are enjoying being first time parents.
