Meet and Greet Visits
Our providers offer new parent "meet and greet" visits to expecting parents. Please call our office at 931-707-8700 to schedule an opportunity to speak with your provider of choice prior to your baby's arrival.
Hospital Visits
Our providers round on new babies at
Cumberland Medical Center. Upon admission for delivery, please let the hospital staff know your child will be a patient of Plateau Pediatrics. They will contact our providers to come see your baby in the hospital. We will then want to see your baby 1-2 days after discharge from the hospital.
If your baby is born at a hospital other than
Cumberland Medical Center, we will see your baby for the first time in the office 1-2 days after discharge. Please note that some birthing centers that perform same day delivery and discharge may require a sooner visit to our office for a weight check.
Insurance
Most of the time, newborns are covered under the mother's insurance policy for 30 days from the date of birth. In some instances, due to the type of insurance or the insurance subscriber, the baby will not be covered under mom's policy. If you need assistance or have questions about coverage or adding your baby to your insurance, please contact our billing team at 931-707-8700 and we will be happy to assist.
